Our Story
California grazed has been producing grass finished beef for 30 years in the central valley of California. Unlike when we started, we are so excited that grass fed and finished meats have been established as a superior nutritional and sustainable meat source.
Our goal is that we can provide an affordable product by providing a pasture to plate affordability. Please pay special attention to the superior quality and the rich robust flavor of all our meats. We use a rotational grazing system that provides the highest quality pasture offer daily if not twice daily. This allows the “pasture salad” time to rest and regrow between animal rotations. The higher quality feed for the livestock thus produces a high quality meat product.

I (Bill) originally learned these grazing practices in college at Fresno State, but then was able to work extensively with them when I was employed by Alta Dena Dairy where we ran thousands of irrigated acres rotating over four thousand holstein heifers. My grazing skills then were put to use on my beef cow calf herd and organic jersey dairy. During this time, we always offered grass fed and finished beef as early as 1990.
More recently we have added the cornish cross chicken to our pasture because of the extreme quality differences in chicken that I desired for my family. These birds thrive on the lush, cool, green pastures and produce a product loaded with flavor and tenderness.
Our desire is to provide the same high quality meats we raise for our family to your family. During the pandemic and the eye opening food shortages, I wanted to secure our meat source. By learning more about the meat processing portion of animal agriculture, we are able to provide a security and quality product through our control production system. Our future production will include pork and lamb and more whole carcass utilization.
